2019 NEGC Awards Won

The New England Garden Club’s 2019 Awards have been selected.  Elinor Terrell, NHFGC’s Awards Chair, announced that the following clubs have won …

The National Gardening Association Award was awarded to the Derry Garden Club for their continuing promotion and development of their partnership with the Derry Boys & Girls Club.  For the past 11 summers, the Derry Garden club members have been teaching our future young gardeners how to expand and maintain edible gardens to include learning about good bugs and bad bugs.  A great example of dedication.

The Kathleen Thomas Award for an Outstanding Project was awarded to the Hooksett Garden Club.  This is in recognition of their excellence in teamwork for collaborating with the Hooksett Parks and Recreation, Department of Transportation and city officials who have along with club members provided the beautification of the Hooksett Memorial Bridge now used as a walkway.  The Bridge of Flowers has been sustained for 9 years showing cooperation and diligence keeping this project going through several garden club and city administrations. Well done Hooksett.

First Place for Yearbook Awards 2018-2019 went to the Mountain Garden Club.  Their beautiful yearbook won over the entire region in the category of garden clubs who have 100 to 299 members.  Their yearbook took district and state first place honors as well. Cheers to Mountain Garden Club.

Congratulations to you all for your outstanding endeavors.  We are very proud of our garden club members.
